After Firestone, I went to Wittenberg University and majored in chemistry. I married Fred Rankin from our class and we moved to Pittsburgh for graduate school. I received a master of science from the University of Pittsburgh Medical School in biochemistry. I worked there as a researcher until my third child was born. I spent 16 years as a stay at home mom and finished my career as a high school chemistry teacher. I am now actively involved in dog sports with my two Australian Shepherds. Fred and I like to travel and spend time with our three grandchildren.
